We accept bookings for afternoon tea, a quintessential experience in our historic café. It's served in one of our upstairs rooms with beautiful views of the city and river, with everything served on fine china. We welcome walk-ins for all other services.

About the Café

Step through the doors of Stokes High Bridge Café and you’re walking into history. Nestled on Lincoln’s historic High Bridge - the only medieval bridge in England still lined with buildings - our café has been part of the city since 1540, we’ve only been serving coffee here for the best part of a century!

This is where our story began. Generations of guests have celebrated birthdays, afternoon teas, and quiet coffees here. It’s our heart, our soul, and a place where community comes together.

We take our coffee seriously — freshly roasted uphill at our Lincoln roastery, from single-origin beans to expertly crafted blends. Tea lovers are equally spoiled, with over 30 loose-leaf teas, including our Stokes-original Flo’s Mix. Everything is available to take home too, so you can enjoy the Stokes experience in your pyjamas.

Our food is just as thoughtful: fresh, locally sourced, and made from scratch where we can. From hearty brunch and light lunches to indulgent afternoon tea, there’s always something to tempt your taste buds.
