Newark Café

Newark is the newest gem in our Stokes Cafés family, bringing you all the flavour and tradition you know and love, now freshly roasted right on-site! At the heart of our Newark café is our environmentally friendly roaster, which allows us to craft signature blends for you to enjoy at the peak of freshness while showcasing our roasting process right before your eyes. It’s a rare treat to see your coffee made from bean to cup, highlighting our dedication to exceptional taste and quality.

The Newark café is our most modern location yet. Its industrial design is inspired by our wholesale roots, and playful graffiti walls bring an urban, youthful vibe. It’s the perfect spot for every occasion, whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee on the go, relaxing at the roastery window seat for a bit of people-watching, or setting up in the cosy restaurant area for a longer stay.

Our menu reflects both our heritage and our innovation, blending the charm of British tradition with a modern, fun dining experience. And with our on-site roasting, we’re excited to showcase the art and craftsmanship behind every cup.

We’re committed to making a positive impact in every aspect of our business. Sustainability is at the heart of our menus, and we’re deeply passionate about minimising food waste and maximising the use of our resources.

We ensure that 95% of what we serve is homemade, from our famous scones to our flavourful pies, quiches, sandwich fillings, and even our fish and chips batter. Everything is thoughtfully prepared with care.

We also take a creative approach to reducing waste, transforming vegetable trimmings and smaller potatoes into delicious soups, quiches, and pies. With a focus on fresh, seasonal produce, our menu offers both variety and quality, with each dish crafted to perfection.

A cornerstone of Stokes Coffee is our deep appreciation for authentic British dishes. Whether it’s a hearty pie, perfectly crispy fish and chips, or tender pork belly with roasted vegetables, our menu is packed with comforting, traditional meals that our guests have come to know and love. We believe in offering a dining experience that’s both nostalgic and fresh, drawing on over a century of culinary heritage.

Stokes Coffee is a fourth-generation family business, and our journey began at the Highbridge Café in 1902. This iconic location has always been at the heart of our story, and its influence can still be felt across all our cafés today.

At our Newark location, as with all our others, you’ll find echoes of the Highbridge Café in our warm, inviting atmosphere and our dedication to British tradition.
