What is a light roast coffee?

A light roast has spent a shorter time and at a lower temperature during the coffee roasting process. We class anything that was roasted below 215 °C (420 °F) as a light roasted coffee.

Is light roast coffee the strongest?

If you measure by weight the caffeine is virtually the same no matter what roast. If you measure by volume then there could be a slight increase in caffeine content because lightly roasted beans are more dense than a dark roast.

How do you brew light roast coffee?

We would recommend an aeropress as one of the best ways to get the complex and fruity flavours out of a lighter roast. Stick to the ratio of 1:16 so 16ml of water for 1g of coffee, if you like it a bit stronger go for 240ml and 18g of coffee.
