Here at Stokes, there’s nothing we like more than a cuppa – except, perhaps, a tea-based cocktail. Try these recipes to combine Happy Hour with Tea Time!
Introducing the Green Tea Mojito
Give this classic cocktail a refreshing twist with the addition of Stokes Gunpowder Green Tea. The smoky notes of the tea compliment the tangy lime and fresh mint flavours that are reminiscent of a classic mojito.
Ingredients:
Stokes Gunpowder Green Tea
Fresh lime juice
Fresh mint
Sugar
White rum
Method:
Begin by brewing your Stokes Gunpowder Green Tea as you normally would – we recommend using water just off the boil and steeping for around 3 minutes. Leave the tea to cool until it is room temperature. Next, muddle lime, mint and sugar in the bottom of a glass then add ice to fill three quarters of the glass. Pour over a shot or two of white rum and then fill to the top with your cold green tea.
G & Tea
Our signature Lady Jo blend is perfect for this recipe due to its underlying flavours of sweet vanilla and floral lavender. These flavours work with the botanical notes of the gin to create a complex cocktail that’s perfect for a summer’s day.
Ingredients:
Stokes Lady Jo Tea
Fresh lemon juice
Honey or agave nectar
A few sprigs of fresh lavender (optional)
Your favourite Gin
Method:
Brew your Stokes Lady Jo Tea for about 4 minutes, then leave it to cool gradually until it is room temperature. Stir in the honey and lemon juice, then add a shot or two of your favourite gin and mix well. Pour over a glass filled with ice, garnish with a sprig of lavender and enjoy!
Peach Summer Tea
Our Stokes Peach Tea works perfectly for this recipe due to its subtle flavours and marigold flowers. The sweet fruitiness of the peach combines with the whiskey to create a balanced, complex drink.
Ingredients:
Stokes Peach Tea
Peach schnapps
Your favourite whiskey
Peach slices
Method:
Start by brewing your Stokes Peach Tea to your preference – we recommend using water just off the boil and steeping for around 3 minutes. Leave the tea to cool until it is room temperature. Next, add a shot of peach schnapps and another of your favourite whiskey. Pour over a glass filled with ice and sliced peaches and enjoy!
