This fully washed lot comes direct from Rwamatamu coffee in the Western Province of Rwanda. A family business owned and operated by Mukantwaza Laetitia and Rutaganda Gaston, Rwamatamu’s farms and washing station occupy 20 hectares of land in the Nyamasheke district, around Lake Kivu. The region has rich volcanic soil and high altitudes, which allows the farmers to produce a wonderful example of a classic Rwandan coffee.
We’ve roasted this lot very light, preserving the delicate floral notes and crisp acidity so prevalent in a good quality washed Rwandan. Expect notes of juicy orange, with a soft sweetness reminiscent of peaches and nectarines, all backed up by a lovely floral note of black tea.
